Physiotherapy can help!
Nerve glides are a technique a physiotherapist can use to reduce nerve pain. In a recent 2017 article regarding the physiology of nerve glides, they found that when applying a glide, we can reduce the sensitivity of the nerve. This works via reducing the excitability of the dorsal horn cells. These dorsal horn cells are involved in the process of information and signals sent to our brain. Hence, the nerve glides can work to reduce how we feel pain in the nerve.
Nerve glides can also assist to remove swelling (edema) in the region that can be contributing to the nerve pain. WOW. So basically, we can reduce nerve pain with our very cool nerve glide technique. This works effectively for all nerves of the arm and leg.
